Let’s take a brief look at the history of Excavators…
1796 – Grimshaw of Boulton & Watt devised plans for the 1st Steam-Powered Excavator.
1839 – William Otis patents the design of the Steam-Powered Excavator.
1897 – Kilgore Machine Company introduces the first ‘All Hydraulic’ Excavator.
1925 – Bucyrus introduce the first 360º Excavator, designed for use in mines and quarries.
1968 – Japanese company Yanmar release the first diesel powered self-propelled Mini Excavator.
1998 – Yanmar introduce the world’s first zero tail-swing Excavator.
